Our story began with a clear mission in mind: Plumbing and Fire Hydrant Services including Installation and Maintenance to AS1851 and AS2419.1 in Canberra. Within this we specialise in tackling a crucial yet often overlooked aspect of AS1851 – 2012 Table 4.4.4, specifically the Hydrant Booster Flow Testing. This test, required every five years, is critical in ensuring the correct operation of a Hydrant system and its booster in a fire situation.

At DG Plumbing and Hydrant Services, we understand the potential risks tied to neglecting this test, but understood the challenges of simulating a fire scenario to test a hydrant system in an emergency. To navigate this challenge, we have commissioned an operational specialised booster test pump that can flow 50 liters per second at 1000 kPa.

It's crucial to stress that a failure during a Fire Brigade boost could mean the Fire Brigade losing control over water pressure during firefighting, putting lives, property, and our communities at risk. Our booster test pump mimics what the Fire Brigade does during firefighting scenarios. This test not only ensures the smooth operation of the booster assembly but also checks for any obstructions between the booster assembly and the farthest hydrant point.
